Spectacular Nantucket-style home on Long Island Sound: A secluded get-away paradise with nine rooms, over 250 ft of waterfront, a private sandy beach, boat dock and seaside sun decks with hot tub. Now you can enjoy seaside living from your own beach and revel in magnificent water views from all rooms.
You'll wake up to the sound of the surf and glorious sunrises; relax on a spacious patio surrounded by waterfalls and fountains, and enjoy spectacular water views from the wrap-around deck. Observe ospreys and herons searching for food, or just watch boats go by from the hot tub spa in the gazebo. Step down to the beach or go on the dock for sunning, swimming, fishing, snorkeling or boating. Three sea kayaks, a canoe, a wind glider and a power-Zodiac are available to explore the coast and the nearby river estuaries.
With over 2500 sq ft of living space and over 2200 sq ft of seaside terrace, the house is well proportioned to enjoy both in- and outdoor waterfront living. Built in traditional New England style with natural stone and cedar shingles, the villa features nine designer-furnished rooms. There are three double bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a full gourmet kitchen, a dining, family and living room, a laundry and a utility room, and a two-car garage. The entrance is through a fieldstone lighthouse tower which has an office located on top with computer and internet access.
The house sleeps up to eight people. The open floor plan with central heating and two fieldstone fireplaces makes for cozy stays in winter. During summer, the house is naturally air-conditioned with cooling sea breezes, cathedral ceilings with fans, and parquet and tile floors throughout. Sunshine floods the deck and patio in the morning; it’s shaded the rest of the day. Plenty of hardwood and wrought iron outdoor furniture and a gas barbecue grill provide for supreme outdoor guest entertainment. A professionally landscaped garden and extensive outdoor lighting further add a magical aura to this waterfront setting.
The villa is located in the picturesque town of Guilford, a treasure trove of traditional New England colors, tastes and treats. Situated in the geographical center of the Northeast, Guilford is just a short drive away from the big metropolitan areas of New York, Boston and Providence using either I-95 or the Shore Line Train. With shops, antiquarians, historical landmarks and restaurants surrounding it's celebrated Village Green, Guilford is located among New England’s most magnificent scenery.
Plus the house is also near the many attractions of towns such as New Haven (gothic Yale), New London (submarines), Essex (steam train, Gillette Castle, Goodspeed Opera), Mystic’s old seaport and the famous Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos. Two nearby roads are classified scenic drives and offer plenty of opportunities for bike riding. There is outdoor furniture on the wrap-around deck, the patio, the beach and dock. In addition, the gazebo has a hot tub spa; plus the patio features waterfalls, a fountain, a patio heater and a grill/BBQ. At night, extensive mood- and surround-lighting adds a magic aura to the property. SeaScape Villa is truly a great place for seaside dining and waterfront entertainment.
The villa has TV in four rooms, three with satellite and one with digital cable reception.There are two stereo systems, three VCR, two CD/DVD players and a multimedia PC. To enhance the cooling effect of sea breezes, the floor plan is kept open with cathedral ceilings and fans throughout. Two fieldstone fireplaces and central heating keep the house cozy in winter. There is wireless Internet and the office located at the top of the lighthouse tower has a computer with fast Internet access.
